I’m a socially engaged photographer living on the edge of the North Pennines in rural County Durham. Since graduating from University of Westminster, London in 1996 I have worked and traveled widely. My work, documentary in style, focuses on rural issues, people and place, and is rooted in a strong connection to the land. I’m a founding member of arts collective Wideyed, and have taken part in prominent international photography festivals such as FORMAT and Mois de la Photo-OFF. I’ve participated in international arts residences and my work has been exhibited internationally.

As well as working on self initiated projects and commissions I also develop and deliver participatory photography projects with schools and other community groups.

Awards include Independent on Sunday Travel Photographer, NEPN/Side Gallery Development Bursary and DEVELOP, organised by NEPN and produced in collaboration with photography curator and mentor Marc Prüst.
